How to find us

England and the East

By Road (80 miles)

The A75 from Gretna and then Dumfries (allow 75 minutes) is usually a steady drive that once you reach the Bay of Fleet gives up some particularly fine coastal views.  A word of warning here for followers of SATNAVs; Several systems will direct you to come off the A75 at Crocketford and take the A712 through New Galloway instead.  If you like a more challenging journey then this is the way to come but you are unlikely to save any time.

Glasgow

By Road (90 miles)

The M77 to Ayr is definitely the most straightforward way to start. Beyond Ayr there are 3 choices :
a) Take the A713 to New Galloway and then the A712 to Newton Stewart.
b) Continue on the A77 to Girvan.  Then take the A714 to Newton Stewart.  This should only take an extra 5 minutes.
c) From Girvan you can continue towards Stranraer on the A77, following the coast. Then turn left onto the A75 and about 4 miles before Newton Stewart you can turn right onto the B733 through Kirkcowan.

Edinburgh

By Road (134 miles)

The fastest route is the A702 Biggar road to the A74(M), then the A701 to Dumfries and the A75 to Newton Stewart.
Alternatively if you have an extra half hour, stay on the A702 to Thornhill, continuing to New Galloway and then the A712 to Newton Stewart.  This is the shortest and more picturesque route but is a slow road.
Finally, if you are coming from the West of the Capital you may well find it just as quick to head for Glasgow and then turn south.
