There are something in the region of 30 courses with an hour and a halfs drive of us catering for all levels and abilities. The following are some of the closest ones.
Wigtown and Bladnoch Golf Club: 2 minutes walk from the front door, this pleasant nine-hole layout is set out on rolling lush parkland. The course is a haven for those seeking relaxing golf and a friendly atmosphere. From the fourth tee there are magnificent views of Wigtown Bay and across the Solway Firth to the Lake District Hills. During the week it is relatively easy to get on the course and visitors` tee times are not restricted, but it is probably best to phone the clubhouse on 402454 at the weekends or speak to Andrew, as he is Treasurer.
Newton Stewart Golf Club: Set on mature parkland on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, over 2 levels with a short climb to the 3rd tee. Some holes set around lochans with a burn flowing through, others framed by mature trees and gorse.
St. Medan Golf Club: Scotland`s most southerly course, nestling in Monreith with fantastic views over Luce Bay, the Mull and Isle of Man. Challenging 9-hole with 18 tees, suitable for all levels.
Wigtownshire County Golf Club: True links course situated on the shores of Luce Bay. A combination of subtly sloping greens and changing sea breezes, provide a test of golf for both low and high handicappers.
Stranraer Golf Club: Set on undulating ground with breathtaking views with a yardage of 6308, offering a great game of golf. A gem of a course.
There are many more including Brighouse Bay, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Colvend, Dumfries and County, Southerness and Troon - but whichever you choose, you are bound to have a good day out.
