Breakfast

Weekdays, breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and 8.30 to 9.30 at the weekend.

When you come down to the dining room, you will find juice, fruit, local yoghurts, and a selection of cereals on the sideboard to get you started. Relax and plan your day over freshly brewed Fairtrade tea or coffee, while your choice of cooked breakfast is freshly prepared to order - select from our menu, which also gives you lots of information about our suppliers. You can have anything from porridge with brown sugar or local honey, smoked salmon and scrambled egg to the full Scottish.

Finish off with toast and locally made jam or marmalade

You will also have the opportunity to arrange to eat with us in the evening if you would like to, as the evening`s menu will be available.

Evening Meals

Every evening we offer a 3-course set evening meal, served at 7.00pm at a cost of £18.00. Please note, we are a family business and there are only the two of us - therefore, there may be occasions when we are unable to offer an evening meal. Should this be the case we will inform you as soon as possible

We believe passionately in slow food and are members of Slow Food UK and "Savour the Flavours of Dumfries and Galloway". In February 2008,we were thrilled to win the Scottish Hotels of the Year Awards - Local Flavours Food and then on the 1st March 2009 - we did it again and won the Scottish Hotels of the Year Guest House Real Food Award!.

We are committed to sourcing and using local produce whenever and wherever possible. Our "menu of the week" approach allows us to offer a high quality, freshly prepared meal, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients - from Wigtown marmalade to Galloway beef, or raspberries from our garden . A sample menu is below, but this changes frequently to take into account what is in season, so please ask for details when making your booking.

If you are booking on-line and wish to eat, please select the option when booking, and remember to tell us of any dislikes / dietary requirements on the form.
